DeFF Has Proudly Sponsored a Super GT 300-Class Racing Team Since 2020

Super GT Official Website

Super GT is an extremely popular motorsport series in Japan and across Asia, drawing large numbers of fans and sponsors. Over the course of its development, the series has evolved countless times to meet FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) regulations.
Its predecessor, JGTC, was founded in 1994 and was initially governed by the JAF (Japan Automobile Federation). A round in Malaysia was added in 2002, followed by a round in Shanghai in 2005. The name "Super GT World Challenge" was initially proposed, but since all the rounds were located in Asia, the series was ultimately renamed Super GT.

The main reason Super GT is so popular in Japan and across Asia is that most of the competing cars are production-based models tuned by their respective manufacturers. The rivalry between fans' own beloved cars and overseas supercars has indeed given rise to a large community of tuning enthusiasts. However, due to differences in the base performance of the vehicles, the series is divided into two classes: GT500 and GT300. GT500 cars produce roughly 500ps at maximum output, while GT300 cars produce roughly 300ps. As factory vehicle performance advanced significantly over the years, GT500 output had already reached around 600ps by 2012, and by 2016 GT500 cars were producing over 600ps, while GT300 cars exceeded 550ps. The GT300 regulations were also built to align with the FIA GT3 standard, greatly increasing the variety of models able to compete.
