Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about DEFF's premium device protection — DuPont™ Kevlar® cases, AGC Dragontrail® Pro and tempered-glass screen protectors, and accessories for iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Sony Xperia, Google Pixel and more.

What is DuPont™ Kevlar® and why use it for a phone case?

Kevlar® is an aramid fiber developed by DuPont™ that is roughly five times stronger than steel by weight. DEFF's DURO® cases use genuine 1500D Kevlar® fiber to create an ultra-thin case (from 0.65mm) that is also ultra-light (from about 11g), exceptionally strong, and has zero effect on cellular signal, NFC, or wireless charging.

Do DEFF Kevlar cases support MagSafe and wireless charging?

Yes. Every DURO® case supports wireless charging. The DURO® Special Edition and DURO® Ring Master models also add MagSafe magnetic support. Kevlar® does not block wireless charging, NFC, or cellular reception.

Are DEFF cases drop-tested and rugged?

The DURO® Special Edition and Ring Master cases are certified to U.S. Military Standard MIL-STD-810H for drop protection, with reinforced raised edges that guard the camera and screen. The standard DURO® case keeps a slim profile while still protecting against everyday drops and scratches.

What is AGC Dragontrail® Pro glass?

Dragontrail® is a chemically strengthened glass made by Japan's AGC. DEFF's ULTRA HARD GLASS protectors use Dragontrail® Pro for high scratch and impact resistance, finished with a multi-layer oleophobic (anti-smudge) coating and an included alignment tool for easy, bubble-free installation.

What's the difference between ULTRA HARD GLASS, SUPER TOUGH GLASS and NANOCERAM™?

ULTRA HARD GLASS uses premium AGC Dragontrail® Pro glass and comes in clear, nano-matte, anti-UV/blue-light and privacy options. SUPER TOUGH GLASS is triple-strengthened tempered glass rated 9H, as slim as 0.25mm, with in-display fingerprint-sensor support. NANOCERAM™ Premium Glass is DEFF's most impact-resistant protector, built with nano-ceramic material science to flex and resist breakage.

Should I choose a clear or matte (nano-matte) screen protector?

Choose clear for the brightest, truest colors — ideal for photos and video. Choose matte (nano-matte) to cut glare and fingerprints with a smoother, paper-like feel that many people prefer for gaming and outdoor use.

Will a DEFF screen protector work with in-display fingerprint sensors?

Yes. DEFF protectors for Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel and other phones with under-display fingerprint readers are engineered to maintain fingerprint recognition through the glass.

Does DEFF make cases for AirPods, Apple Watch and iPad?

Yes. DEFF offers DURO® Kevlar® cases for AirPods 3, AirPods 4 / 4 ANC and AirPods Pro 3; Apple Watch Series 4 through 11 and Apple Watch Ultra; and iPad mini 6 / 7, along with matching screen protection and accessories.

What car (motoring) accessories does DEFF make?

DEFF's motoring line includes WIZ® DuPont™ Kevlar® smart key fob covers for Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi and Nissan; CNC-machined aluminum fuel cap covers; tempered-glass infotainment screen protectors for BMW, Nissan, Peugeot and Citroën; the Airput® wireless-charging vacuum car mount; and the Toraysee® Z microfiber interior cleaning cloth.

How do I install a DEFF screen protector?

Each ULTRA HARD GLASS protector includes an alignment and installation tool for an easy, bubble-free application. Clean the screen thoroughly, use the guide to position the glass precisely, then let it self-adhere from the center outward.

Which devices does DEFF support?

DEFF makes accessories for Apple (iPhone 15, 16 and 17 series, iPad, AirPods and Apple Watch), Samsung Galaxy (S24, S25 and S26 series), Sony Xperia (1 and 10 series), Google Pixel (9 and 10) and the Nintendo Switch 2.

What does DEFF mean and where is the brand from?

DEFF is a Japanese accessory brand whose name reflects its philosophy, “Design Evolution For the Future.” The brand specializes in premium materials such as DuPont™ Kevlar®, AGC Dragontrail® glass and Toray® carbon fiber.
