If you've just picked up a new Nissan Z — or the Fairlady Z, if you're in Japan — the first accessory worth buying isn't a badge or a shift knob. It's a screen protector for that 9-inch infotainment display. Here's why, and what to look for.
Why bother protecting the screen?
The 2023-onward Z (chassis code RZ34) runs almost everything through a glossy 9-inch touchscreen: nav, audio, drive modes. You're touching it constantly, which means fingerprints, sun glare, dust scratches, and the occasional scrape from a ring or a fingernail. A scratched factory display is an expensive thing to put right, so a protector is cheap insurance — and it makes the screen easier to read day to day as a bonus.
What makes a good one
Fit is the big thing. You want a protector cut exactly for the RZ34's 9-inch screen, not a generic sheet you trim yourself. Past that, look for an anti-glare finish so the map stays readable in direct sun, full touch sensitivity so it feels like the bare screen, and a surface that resists scratches and fingerprints under daily use. Japanese-made glass also tends to hold its clarity and finish far longer under constant sun.
Our Nissan Z protector
DEFF's Multifunction Screen Protector for the Nissan Z / Fairlady Z is cut precisely for the RZ34's 9-inch display and made entirely in Japan. It's anti-glare, keeps full touch response, and resists scratches and fingerprints while adding a layer of impact protection. We've been building car-screen protectors for the Japanese market for years — the same multifunction line is an OEM-designated accessory for certain Nissan models there, which tells you something about how seriously the fit is taken.
Will it fit your car?
It's made for the current Nissan Z / Fairlady Z (RZ34, 2023 onward) with the 9-inch infotainment system. The Z uses essentially the same center screen across markets, so it suits US, Japanese, Middle East and Australian cars alike — just double-check yours has the 9-inch unit before ordering.
Fitting it
Pick a clean, dust-free spot — a garage first thing in the morning is ideal — and wipe the screen down properly first. Line the protector up to the screen edges, lay it down from one side, and push any air out toward the nearest edge. Since it's pre-cut to the RZ34 screen, you're not fighting the alignment.
Finishing the cabin
A microfiber cloth like our Toraysee Z keeps the display and the rest of the interior free of dust and fingerprints, and you'll find DEFF's full car range under Automotive Accessories.
If you own a Z, a precise-fit, Japanese-made screen protector is the easiest way to keep the cabin sharp and the screen glare-free. Full details are on the product page.
